Evolution copies Outlook (not Outlook Express) which has for years been considered by the vast majority of people to be the ugliest and most complicated email client known to man. Thunderbird has less than half the buttons and switches to get it working correctly and none of the huge security holes like Outlook (http://www.personaltechpipeline.com/news/175803807)

And last I looked, Evolution is not for Window users.

Oh, and if you can't stand the UI, Thunderbird is 100% themeable and there is a large selection of themes for it to change it to your liking. You can even make it look like Outlook if for some sick reason you needed it to.
