or more precisely, I didn't state it clearly. By anonymity I am referring to the ability to use stealth techniques to hide your IP address. I am not suggesting that you would need to have your name tagged along with every post.
It is my understanding that the structure of TCP/IP addressing allows this stealthing. Basically we are saying exactly the same thing, i.e. that we need to be able to trace an email back to its origin.
