A legal question
I have a question. Maybe it is a catch 22 and maybe it is not. The article states -

"In January, SCO sued Novell, charging that Novell falsely claimed control of the Unix operating system, on which Linux is based. The suit, filed in Utah's Third District Court in Salt Lake City, accuses Novell of slander and seeks an order to require the company to sign over all Unix-related copyrights to SCO and withdraw any statements claiming ownership of Unix."

Ok, now to my question. How can SCO claim that Novell has no claim to UNIX and it is using slander against SCO; and in the same breath ask as a resolution to sign over all rights to all UNIX-related coptrights? Supposedly they don't have anything to sign over if SCO is correct. So why this as a clause to their lawsuit. I suppose you can distinguish between UNIX and UNIX-related. But accoeding to SCO they purchased UNIX from Novell. Not every scrap of code that is realted to UNIX. To a layman like myself, this only makes SCO look even more like a crook than before. They claim some SCO UNIX code is in Linux, but ask companys to pay them for the entire code; regardless of whether they had any contibution to it or not. I'm not a lawyer by a long shot, so this all seems to contradict SCO claims.
