Adobe only competes when it has to.
Mac customers have begged and pleaded with Adobe to improve
their Mac software, and they ignored us for years, claiming that the
Mac market just wasn't big enough. Now Apple comes out with a
program for managing photographs--not a direct substitute for
Photoshop, but a threat to appropriate some of its market--and
they pull out all the stops to come out with a competing product.

I hope Mac users will remember how serious Adobe's commitment
to the platform is and tell them where they can stick Ligthroom.
