but self defense is a legitimate use for firearms
People in the us keep saying that. Is your country any safer for it? I believe the murder rate in your country is one of the highest. My country does not allow fire arms and the netherlands can't touch the USA where gun killings are concerned. I think your country is less safe a place thanks to the firearms.

As for the police.... in my line of reasoning the gun manufacturers should pay a big part of the bill for the police. Since a lot of crimes involve the use of guns working as a police officer has become a very dangerous job. The should be compensated for this by the people that make it such a dangerous job happy
