I think it would work.
I think Wine would be better tho, as the file is just an executable. We can do without the whole double-click attachment in email thing that the plugin offers and with Wine, be able to reach any x86-based Unix.

The worm doesn't seem to use anything Wine didn't build a layer for. Even though Wine won't let you run as the superuser, techniqually, it should work depending on how your unix is setup.

The only area I see that might be a problem is with the access to ports. The backdoor's port is high enough so it should work. The SMTP engine's port is only accessable to the superuser, so that might be a problem starting up. But since it only sends email out, it might still work too.

Unless I missed something, it should work limited to the access of the user it runs under and what extra limits the system puts (like bandwidth usage...).
