That really sucks.
If my Charter cable EVER does that, I am OUT... after about 50 emails of complaining. I am already pissed of about the 128kbps upload.

What these guys should do is make it optional. They can use their all_too_pursuasive marketing to make the clueless masses install it (along with their useless software). They can say "Our high speed connection drastically reduces your chances of infection". The competent user can then still say "No I just want the damn connection. You can keep the other useless stuff out, I got it covered."
