Can't think of anything else sad
Obviously educating the user is the best solution. But what can you do when they don't care. If you can think of another way, PLEASE... I am all ears.

I think this idea is probably the most effective compared to the others. Welchia's problem: it was too much like a normal virus and too uncontrolled. A true vaccine (I think that is what we should call them) would have a lot of control parameters. Like dying off after a set time on a host. Being able to checkin to a central server that can give it parameters for its survival or turn it off.

Welchia biggest annoyance was it restarted computers w/o the user's permission, and kept flooding the net from infected comps.

The way I see it, a vulnerable comp might as well get infected by a vaccine and get cured possible causing an annoyance for a short time. The alternative is a virus that infects and damages others and takes forever to go away because the user is uneducated or lazy.

What I wish for is a world where everyone is courteous enough to others on the net by installing safe gaurds on their comps. Like firewalls, Anti-Virus software, and basic email practices. But that's not going to happen anytime soon sad.
