Wonder what the second one does...
I hope it erases all the user's personal data. Then their unaffected friends can laugh at them for not running an updated virus scan and not listening to the media frenzy on the subject thats been going on for more than a week. Maybe then in future instances they will think twice before opening unknown attachments and attempt to clean up their system when there is a possibility of infection.

On a brighter side, 50-75 thousand still infected isn't all that bad. I could be wrong, but even if they have high speed, its not enough to do a major DDOS on big sites like MSN, IBM, Google, or even SCO. I mean we are talking what... max 2.4 Gbytes of data transfer assuming 75k infected, all have 256kbps upload, and all attack one spot at the same time? Chances seem unlikely.

Also, considering only 25% of MyDoom's zombies purposely participated in the DDOS attacks (the other 75% were used to spread and help with spam). I don't think the 7% was a mistake. The authors probably adjusted the numbers because MyDoom was sadly so effective, a smaller percent would still produce a huge DDOS network.
