He's got a tough row to hoe.
I've had friends who have worked as UI and IA consultants at
Microsoft. They've been paid very well to develop recommendations
and design specifications only to have them rejected by
engineering, claiming they knew better.

Microsoft needs a total change in culture before they can improve
the quality of their products in any significant way.
