Stolen code is the sincerest form of flattery...: If these companies are so quick to steal Linux and Unix source code, that proves to me the feeling that I have had for a long time, as being true. That feeling is that Linux is head and shoulders above the rest when it comes to stability. The whole basis of the o/s is that it does not follow the WINDOWS idea of "Money before stability". Microsoft's #1 goal is to control the market, NOT to make quality product that users can enjoy. Windows is just starting to realize that the people are starting to become a little more tech. savvy, and therefore, know what to look for. IBM stealing code is another proven point to the fact that these big businesses don't care about how they get their information, just that they be the first to release it.
