He did state that a wise thing to do for "the linux community would be to buy sco stocks"

Definately somebody not a part of the community, because then he would know the current state of affairs. And IF my assumptions are true, he deserves to lose his money (in my opinion), because he made a bet on a company willing to destroy freedom.

He has nothing to lose, just posting a message and maybe some "stupid crack smoking commie" could follow his advise. SCO does have a lot of "strong sells" at this moment, so people are starting to bail out!!

Buying SCO could have been an option 10 months ago, providing we didn't have faith in the community and were willing to reward company's like SCO. IF either the community or IBM would have bought SCO, than they had succeeded in their stock pumps, hadn't they? We just cannot do things like that, conflicts need to be resolved not put away where nobody hears about it any more. And rewarding sco-like company's would only make a free future more difficult to archieve.

For most community members this conflict isn't about money I think.
