In other words, it's the same as a USB drive or laptop minus a couple of security risks - risks that can easily be minimized.

Personally, my hand is on the bag that holds my laptop 100% of the time, and it never leaves my side. Sitting, standing, walking, it doesn't matter. I never set it down. The only way to steal it would be at gunpoint (and even then, I've installed a couple of nasty surprises for such occasions should I lose it in such a manner).

Hotmail? What's that? OH, that Microsoft webmail product that I never used.

I got rid of spam, it's not a problem for me anymore. There are plenty of alternatives to Hotmail that have decent spam fighting tools.

OK, collaboration I can see (although I DO hear that Microsoft sells collaboration software). Being a student, though, I'm not yet to the point where I collaborate often (in our "education" system, working with somebody else is often called "cheating").

Sounds more like a tool that combines the advantages of several other pieces of software. Still, it could have potential - if they find a way to really differentiate it from other products.
