A waste...
While I can see merits in their design, I also see flaws and limitations. Specifically, the fact that MS can simply choose to build a web based version of MS Office.

And about that "new feature"... the "Save As PDF" one... I just finished a Single Source editor. Single Source is about creating something once and publishing it several times over. Upstartle is behind the curve of technology. It has long been known that by combining XML, XSLT, and XSL-FO, any software can generate RTF, HTML, PDF, Windows CHM and many other formats from a single piece of content. This includes being able to port to, you guessed it: ODF.

I'm actually building a P2P based system that has built in Single Source abilities. Create it, store it on your box, and if you so choose, access it from anywhere using either your P2P software, or a web site.

If you're interested in tracking the progress, I'll have the site finished shortly and you can keep up at evoisys.com/projects/p2p

Back to the subject at hand... upstartle can sustain their presence. My guess is, their building something for one of the larger guys to buy out.
