Bounce SPAM
I'm surprised no one has mentioned the solution I employ. There is a program, Bounce SPAM, that will bounce the spam to the return address. See:
http://www.pcworld.com/downloads/file_description/0,fid,5402,00.asp

A note says the program is not supported, but still works.

I've used it and though I still get maybe one or two bits of spam a week, it is far from being a problem. My friends who use other approaches still have to go through the filtered mail to be sure no good messages have been discarded. So they still get all the spam traffic, and still have to review it.

I also have an alternate e-mail address that only accepts mail from addresses in my address book. When I need to enter an e-mail address in order to download something or "register" (in the unfriendly sense) something, I give that address. It is a valid address, if they want to check it, but they won't be able to spam it.
