The bad guys are behind it, but it's real.
Spyware publishers really are advertising so-called anti-spyware programs by unsolicited e-mail - although, reviewing the uppermost of my recently received spam, I only see ads for general cheap software and for anti-spam. What better way to push spyware than by calling it anti-spyware? Just a pity that it's a rather public way to commit fraud...
