But not as far off as this is off topic. Come on, the musical satirist, like Mark Russell, with a piano, 50s and early 60s. A couple of albums were "An Evening wasted With Tom Lehrer" and "That was the Year That Was." Tom was actually a defrocked math professor from Harvard.

Representative songs (actually, just titles that come to me), "The Old Dope Peddler", "The Vatican Rag", "The Masochism Tango", "In Old Mexico", "The Elements Song", "New Math", "The Folk Song Army", "It Makes a Fellow Proud (To be a Soldier)." Actually, no target too low for Tom.

Anyway, he was doing Clemantine verses as various composers might have written them, such as a minuet, then maybe Cole Porter. For the finale, he did a Rogers and Hammerstein flourish, "All sound and fury, and signifying nothing." That's why the phrase rang with me.

Maybe a bit tame for today's standards, particularly considering the subject of this article. But if somehow you missed Tom Lehrer, by all means, pick up his three albums.
