Well Said
An odd phenomenon sometimes occurs when people are kidnapped, they develope a strong bond to their captor and actually begin to defend them. The Microsoft marketing people have apparantly done their job in that so many have developed such an irrational attachment to their products that they are most happy to be fleeced in exchange for some sense of familiarity and security. MS has made billions of monopoly profits and we defend it as some divine right for Gates and Co. to have money that we earned and could spend if we were not paying premium prices and incessant upgrade costs that can only be extracted because they are a largely a monopoly.

Mannheim is doin us all a great favor and we should cheer their efforts.
