Butting in ...
I first thought of J.D. Souther. A fine singer and guitar player. Certainly a worthy object of pride, but not an obvious icon of geekdom. Next I thought of the Kodiak pride and the Drago-Katzoff pride, both much geekier and control-by-any-means oriented but not apparently related to "souther". So, my musings seem to be taking me in opposing directions and not toward any resolution. Hmmmm, sounds a little schizoid, but the persona and the perceptual, world-view discursive techniques seem quite consistent with the aliases that others seem to think this person also uses. So, no schizophrenia seems to be present here either. I'm inclined to go with the slip of the digit theory, i.e. the alias was created and submitted before sufficient review had been done to spot the defect and it wasn't perceived as being important enough to go back and create the originally intended alias.

Of course my opinion wouldn't have been rendered if the originator had provided a response but I'm not going to blame that person for my actions.
