- The basic SQL server will become a comodity
- MySQL will come out with a version that supports clustering soon. Really, right now, most businesses could use either MySQL, PostgreSQL, or Firebird for most projects. Oracle, IBM, and Microsoft will have to focus on tools and ease of use, but in the end, that won't be enough.
