Ms. Jackson, if you're nasty...
TiVo reported that the incident with Janet Jackson was the most rewound/replayed clip in their history (yes, they track the users). Within 1/2 hour, the clip was on the Internet for sharing.

At the same time, casinos in Las Vegas were getting nastygrams telling them not to show the Super Bowl on TVs bigger than 55" (usually shown on movie-theater screens) if there was a paid party involved because it would be a "public performance." And this is just over a football game broadcast over the public airwaves on a FREE network channel!

The rules are so in contradiction with themselves that they really can't be taken seriously anymore. P2P is a useful tool and to take it away is a ridiculous waste of a valuable information resource. But, then there will always be a way to find what one wants if one tries hard enough.
