blah blah blah piracy rocks!!!!! Little bittie byte!
blah blah blah piracy rocks!!! The cd is dead

It costs more than a dollar to manufacture, ship, package, promote, account for inevitable theft and damaged merchandise and pay everyone along the way who handles said CD. CD's might be a good value for the consume at three or four bucks, but where is the incentive for the manufacturer? The basic idea IS dead. What will be the average perception of file sharing and digital files over antiqucated CD's in 15 years? I swear, this is what it was like watching people cling to the idea that vinyl was superior, or that 8-track was worthwhile. CD's will not survivie another decade. Music bundled in physical for will not survivie another decade. The music industry will be so irrevocably altered by file sharing that it will eventually become unrecognizable or it will die altogether. For better or for worse, this is what millions of music fans have done to music with file sharing. People tend to forget that the music industry, as we know it, is relativly young. There is no reason to believe that it will be around forever. The pop bands will die. The mega-hits will die. the sold out amphitheatres will die. Albums going gold will die. In a world where no one in there right mind will pay for music, there will be no way to pay for the massive infrastucture that supports these things. Because of this, many talented bands will not be heard by millions because there is no huge promotional push. There will be more small pockets of music culture. The basic idea is as dead as dead can be. There is only a small chance for adaptation, but who will be willing to stay in a medium that no one is willing to pay for?
