Let's examine the logic here:
P2P is bad because people can use it to do bad things.
Guns are bad for the same reason.
Well, then:
Cars kill more people than any other manufactured product BY FAR, so we must ban cars.
Fast food restaurants kill people by contributing to heart disease. Heart disease kills more people than anything else, so no more fast food.
What!?!!?? You don't agree that we should ban cars? Well neither do I, but I have reasoning involved. A fundamental repsonsibility of each person is to make decisions for themselves. The more decisions we abdicate to government, the less freedom we have. I happen to be proud of my USA heritage and the words of Patrick Henry - "Is life so dear or peace so sweet as to be purchased at the price of slavery? Forbid It, Almighty GOd - GIVE ME LIBERTY OR GIVE ME DEATH". Remember that the slavery he referred to was nothing less than unfair rules imposed by a callous government.

Consider this in regards to guns. Who obeys the laws? Who disobeys? So who will have guns if you pass a law banning them? When those loving criminals break in your house to rape your wife and daughter, you can ask them not to or threaten them with your keyboard. I'll shoot them.
