That's a mighty big assumption.....
And honestly, not Linux nor Mac nor OS XXX would be secure from this type of attack, assuming that the logged in user were running under an account that enough privledges to install apps.

You'd have to be running as root, a conscious decision to override the built in security of Linux permissions. I'm sure some people do this but they would be a very small minority. Otherwise, you would have to be very determined to want to execute the attachment. While still not impossible it is unlikely that someone with enough knowledge to understand the permissions and purpose of them, would still execute an unknown attachment. I think part of the Windows problem is that it's just too easy to execute. If you had to think about it, would the people who have spread this worm still execute?
