It's been said before...
Linux is NOT ready for the Desktop.

Sure, those with years of Linux under their belt _think_ it is, but it's not. They are just used to it.

Difficult installation, difficult maintenance, shortage of _quality_ applications, non-existent compatibility with new hardware as it is released, etc... make Linux a POOR choice for the desktop.

MaxOS X woould be a much better choice from a useability and supportability standpoint.
