MS wont need the OEMs anymore ...
because they will be able to distribute their software directly to the consumer over the Internet. The OEMs just wont be able to charge $40 for works any longer after it becomes a free download over the Internet. This is the future of software and those businesses that focused on making money on software are going to have to learn new skills. This is the nature of disruptive technology.
