How many years did they have it?
And how intrusive were the ads? Again.. If you want to go the cheap route, you can't complain that the business is trying to recoup costs in other ways..

The only reason Opera took their Ads out. If you want my opinion? Is because Firefox got more fanfare than Opera, taking more of IE's pie away.. And yet hasn't been around as long as Opera..

It's merely their ability to recognize that the model they were using didn't work.
