Microsoft is moving on with the future hardware. All of their pre-2006 software can handle 32 bits for many years to come. People are still running NT4 server and it suits them fine. But the 64 bit home pc you can get at staples is faster than most servers running NT4. If you want to move on, the hardware isn't expensive for most business that already have high end equipment. Microsoft isnt saying everyone with a server and exchange has to upgrade the day they release x64 software. Just know that when you want to get rid of your crusty old 32 bit server in 2010, you will be buying a beautiful new powerhouse to go along with the 64 bit software.
