Amen, and then some...
My first exposure to ad-serving app software was the old freebie email client from Eudora, and I thought that was a totally tasteless and shoddy way to push software out into the marketplace.

It was enough to shove me into the M$ camp for email client software and keep me there - I'll never consider that product line again, freebie or paid/pro versions - regardless of how closed-minded that sounds.

I've been using the M$ Office line for quite a while now and have laughed-off efforts by others to regain a tiny foothold in that locked market.

However, if M$ DOES start pushing ad-serving apps down my throat, I'm going to start updating my sadly outdated understanding of competetive products and start looking for something else.

Sure, they'll drag a large percentage of the user community with them - at first - due to their huge office automatino marketshare, but I'll be curious to see just how long that loyalty lasts, as people start seeing ad banners and popups and what-not while composing, etc.

Whatever bright-boy (or -girl) who thought this one up needs a long, long vacation.
