2 reasons:
1.His campain was based on Internet.
Once Kerry started doing the same thing (even better IMHO) Dean lost the thunder.
2.Because of his backers, he is considered pro offshoring, pro H1-B and pro L1.
Once IT professionals saw the light, the Internet funding virtually moved to Kerry.
