The internet...
...had NOTHING to do with Dean's fall from grace. The reason rests solely with Dean himself. You can't scream, snarl, and growl, rabblerousing your supporters with high school football-like cheerleading stupidity and then finishing it off with a most unprofessional "Yeehah!" and expect to be taken too seriously afterwards..
Besides, as with anything else, the internet has its place in life and is not some kind of all-in-one solution.
