War, huh?
Mike,

The phrase "choke the life out of..." sounds like Psycho Steve Ballmer telling us how he's going to destroy the competition. Whenever I hear any MS employee, in whatever capacity, talking about destroying the competition, or choking the life out of the competition I can only think of one thing. Microsoft is determined to eliminate my choices outside of Microsoft products.

See, Microsoft hates competition. It makes them work too hard for their money. That's why they need help from the government to regulate competition out of the market. Notice how quickly they moved their forces in the OpenDocument debate in Massachutsetts. Why support OpenDocument when we can pass a law that prevents it?

So if they want to choke the life out of Unisys, they had better start thinking about how their customers will respond when their choices are eliminated.

Fortunately for the rest of, there will be GPL software. It's kind of hard to kill that. Can't buy it. Can't own it. But you can use it freely.

Let's just say that MS is in a struggle of diminishing returns for their efforts as long as they remain bent on destroying all the competition out there.

Scott
