Windows is better. For Routers and switches...
Um, I think you have that backwards. For software development (eclipse), network (all of my routers and switches), firewall (iptables), Web HTTP/Java application servers (clustered JBoss), database servers (PostgresSQL) and e-mail server (sendmail) we use Linux.

My kids need dual boot to play their Windows games (and the hardware was cheaper to by with Windows pre-installed)... But their homework is done with Open Office on Linux (Windows isn't allowed to route to the public network or the mail server).
