Not gonna happen
The little-noticed side effect of client-server was that the IT operations budget soared. This was tolerated, because users were delighted with the new capabilites. But once the newness wore off, the hard questions began to flow from topside. The move to browser-based systems has had the effect of significantly lowering support costs. You're not going to get that budget boost again, because you can't show return on that investment.

Bye bye, client server. Nice to know you. Good in your time, but it is past.
