Will the CEO cut some of his pay too? HE owns the comapny and therefore he
has to take some responsibility.

He makes the big choices. The big decisions which determine if the company survives or flounders.

He's been floundering, that much is obvious.

So he should cut his salary or at least nix the golden parachute while he's giving his workers (justifiably or otherwise) the golden showers.

Profitability is about selling novel ideas. Not generating an inescapable situation that forces people to pay in (e.g. software subscriptions and closed-source proprietary formats, and I need not do any name-dropping because we already know the names...) The latter is extortion at best... and immoral redistribution of wealth at its worst.
