Brilliant move...
Switching focus to Linux will just kill this company once and for all. The SCO lawsuit will take care of that. Now that NetWare is dead and Linux is on life support, Novell will be thrown to the scrap heap of IT history. Another company that got steamrolled by the powerful train called Windows NT. I will never forget the absolute glee we had here when we dumped Netware and moved to NT 4.0 SP2. I did not even bother with a migration, I just pulled the plug on Netware. I figured the CNE's on the spot in a move similar to the closing hours of Watergate. I then hired 100 MCSEs and had them start immediately, rebuilding accounts and creating new shares. We were down for about 1 month but it was well worth it. My rep told me to ignore the pressure from our executives. As my rep said: "Work the plan and plan your work". The MCSEs did not see the light of day for 1 month but when it was all over, Netware was dead and NT 4.0 was king.
