- No one is going to upgrade, they have to offer this stuff
- Wasn't it last year that I read an article about how consumers have little motivation for upgrading to the next OS. Heck something like 2/3 of all business are still using Windows 2000 up till MS killed support for it just this year. Yes, the people who really want it will upgrade... People who buy new computers will get Vista... But aside from that I don't see a lot of motivation to buy the new OS... Oh, I'm sure Microsoft will strong-arm companies into writing some software titles that will only run on Vista, just like they did with XP... Then there will be the dropped support of XP... Then the new set of security issues... Then the virus scanner will probably suck... And who is smart enough to use VOIP applications? The stuff has been around forever and I don't see telecoms going out of business. I remember people were saying that the big phone companies had some sweating to do. It didn't happen... Man this is too much to worry about, I'm switching to Linux.
