Windows "Dead" and Office "Dead"
Oh, boy! It's not bad enough that two popular pieces of software have already had extraneous bells and whistles added, now they're going to be web-based.

At home, I still use Office 2000 - Microsoft hasn't added much that's new that I've really appreciated and it's the best version of the software I believe exists. XP has actually been good also (better than Windows ME, anyway) so why foul it up with more junk?

I remember reading about the so-called "Palladium Initiative" (use your search engines to read more about it), the push for leased rather than licensed software. This move by Microsoft is definitely in line with that... bad news for consumers... again.
