- What is amaizing is your stating the Office XML is not an open format. ODF is open and Office XML is open. MS requires a person to have a license(royalty free). The big difference is ownership and trust. The other big difference if Office XML being more robust and far more complete than ODF. ODF isn't even a complete standard yet...that's the funniest part of all.
