- RE: all the media companies need to do
-
Your idea is great, and it's something i would of wanted years even a decade ago. But greed is the factor. You tell people that they are not allowed to download music for free, but you have radio stations playing the same music for free. Yes it's not the same quality, but you are allowed to tape it just like TV shows.
Why is that? It's because there are commericals, in which advertisers pay money for you to listen to music and their ads.
So now you tell people, oh you want to download it, ok let's charge you. And most people would say ok, but you will never get a online download service that will be cheap. iTunes is about $1 a download, not bad considering buying a music single is anywhere from $3-$7 for the cost.
The fundemential is what amount of greed companies want to push for, that's what i breaks down too. Nowadays all people can think about is their bottom line, how much am i making. I too myself could be accussed of this, but not to the extent that large companies do. If you company is making a Billion plus a year in profit, but your claiming losses, what wrong with that picture? Greed, pure and simple.
"all the media companies need to do
is set up their own p2p network for say 9.95 a month for 100 soung download limit, 50 cents each addl song, most people (honest people) would setup an account and keep it (even when not using it, I do that with cable and that's close to $100 a month) as it is too much hasle to keep setting up new accounts only when you need it and 9.95 is cheap enough not to worry about it, the cost of distribution is near zero, so almost 100% profit, just pay the ARTISTS based off of number of downloads, and illegal p2p goes away...
otherwie honest people like me, think the radio is good enough, why do we need cd's, tapes, mp3's for, unless they are cheap enough that "why not" have them" - Posted by: ajapierce Posted on: 01/29/04 You are currently: a Guest | Members login | Terms of Use
