Microsoft is not just going to disappear from the map. There are a few reasons for this. First off, too many people are accustomed to their software and too many applications are already available on their platform. Secondly, say what you want of Bill Gates, he is an intelligent businessman and I tend to think that he'll keep the company alive and thriving. He'll probably do so through questionable business practices and at the expense of others, but Microsoft will remain just the same. Hopefully, reports like these will keep them alert and mindful of the growing competition and we'll see some innovation.
