Blame Game
So I call your house and say "Mr. Jones, we want to publish your phone number on the Internet, is that OK?" and you say "Yes". Then I go out and make up a porn ad that says "For a free 30 day porn subscription, call Mr. Jones at 555-1212" and spam that out to 3 or 4 million people, would you blame the phone company when you started getting 200 phone calls an hour?

Remember how you get infected, you received an email that contained an attachment, and you told your computer that it was OK to execute the attachment. You used poor judgment. You probably didn't spend the $40 for an antivirus program, or if you did, you haven't updated the definitions since it was installed.

So forgive me if I don't understand how it is Micro$oft's fault that some jerk with a vendetta or just too much time on their hands wrote a virus that YOU executed on your machine.

Are they supposed to be able to "Idiot Proof" the OS to the point where the only things your can run are the programs that shipped with the PC?

Put your hand in the fire, do donuts in front of the police station, drive your car off a cliff or open a non-descript email attachment on an unprotected PC, it really doesn't matter, you SHOULD have known better. And if you didn't then maybe your should sign up for a Basic Computing course at your local community college.
