We'll let you tell that to...
All the Grandma's out there who bought a computer so they can converse with the Grandkids, get pictures, and generally have a good time with their families over the internet.

And I'll watch laughing as the beat you to a pulp with their canes for being so arrogant happy

In other words, not everyone is a computer expert. Most home users buy a computer to do things. They don't buy them to have something else to mother continuously. It's a tool. An Appliance. They have a good-faith expectation that the builder of their equipment built it to work properly, safely, and securely. They don't read ZDNet. They don't read Toms Hardware. They sure as hell don't read the Microsoft Security Site daily.

Yes, you can call them ignorant. I, too, am ignorant on a lot of things. I do not, for example, know how to pilot the Space Shuttle.

The problem here is a combination of the Product being defective, and the human race (or certain groups of it) being defective.

It's not the people that buy these appliances to simply do what it says they can do on the side of the box.

You and I know better. Most people here know better. For every one us that knows better, there are 1000 that don't.

Think about it...
