Throw it out if the test was rigged
The machine does not have to reveal the source code to the defendent. 99.999% of the people out there could not read it anyway. What is next, opening up the source of the microchip to convert chemical molecules into electrical signals from the sensor. Is RMS the friggin attorney?

All you have to do is have the machines calibrated by an independent agency that is contracted by the state. It is a certified piece of equipment and sealed for the police force. They would get accuracy pay to keep them honest. I have in the past seen adjustable radar guns that are calibrated by the patrolman with a tuning fork. I thought that was a little unsettling at the time.

Ah shaddup you liberal commie pinko gay hippytarian. Remove that piece sign off your uniform, grunt. Come on over to the winning side you misguided marine. OOOOHHHHYA!
