I think there is a question here that most people don't ask.
Let's say Apple "opens" up. What then? Does it not stand to
reason that if Apple does not seek the king of the hill spot that
someone else will and Apple will become just another vassal to
whomever takes that spot. This "IS" bot a hardware/software
competition and as MS proved if you own the software it does
not matter about the software you become KING! So MS is
pushing her proprietary software to run on ALL the hardware
and that would make her King. The hardware people would be
at the beck and call of MS. Why would Apple want to join that
herd?

Is this a fair expectation put upon Apple and better still is it a
SMART thing for Apple to do business wise?
