Microsoft ponies up for academia

Education receives a huge boost...

Academia needs to get down and thank their lucky stars that Microsoft is getting involved and helping out. My rep said it is all about converting minds both young and old to the awesome power and unbridled elegance that will be the Windows Vista eXPerience. While many academics use lame operating systems like Linux and malware web browsers like Firefox, schools entrenched in the Windows Way of Life (WWOL) walk strong and stand tall. When my kid visits schools, I immediately lambast the Computer Science department if I so much as see a Linux or UNIX machine in the lab. My rep is starting to make these college visits with us. My rep and I sit in the front and my kid and wife sit in the back as we visit various schools. My rep brings frisbees and t-shirts and creates a similiar atmosphere as College Football Game Day on ESPN. My rep then takes me out to lunch while my wife and kid make do with the school cafeteria.
