Open Office is a very usable product. It is different than
Microsoft Office that many are familiar with, and there can be problems reading files with lots of complicated formatting. Well, you can read them, but it does not look the same as with Office. And, that is why Microsoft will have to be dragged kicking and screaming to implement the Open Document format. But, smart people like Massachusettes are calling Microsofts bluff. The work is a changin.

And, it has been a long time since you had to use a command line with Linux. A grandmother could use Linux and never leave the graphical environment.
