Reasons to use Linux on the desktop? They have nothing and everything to do with Microsoft.

1. no viruses, so no antivirus.

2. no forced-install spyware, so no anti-spyware.

3. never, ever seen anything get through this firewall. No ZoneAlarm blue-screening my PC.

4. one-stop updating of everything with Synaptic. Show me a MS OS that will install security patches, drivers, codecs, office programs, antivirus, firewalls, image editors, HTML WYSIWYG editors, email clients, browser updates...
all in one place, AT ONCE, automatically, without restarting the damned thing a dozen times, then breaking half of the other programs you have installed.

5. I own it, I bought it, I downloaded it... now I can copy it, give it away, sell it, install it all I want and not ask big daddy Microsoft for permission.

6. No trips to BestBuy or CompUSA for software, 99% of any program that 99% of computer users need is free and/or included.

7. The best reason of all -- Windows users can't break it.

How's that?
