I don't use Konqueror
for web browsing. I agree Firefox is more robust, not faster though. KDE is crisp and clean in it's own right.

You are advocating the removal of choice, one of the pillars of Linux. If the consumer sees both side by side in a store then they can make the choice of which they want. Unlike you I find Gnome clunky and silly.

Many apps written for either will function in the other so long as the libs are available

As for Enlightenment, sorry for the confusion. Yes it is fast and very sweet looking but I agree it's not near as feature rich nor is it near ready for the average consumer. I mentioned it because I like the speed and look. It's on the right track but a long way to go.
