As long as comercial software does NOT need to link with InnoDB, ok
I had not thought about that issue, but they should be ok here. The libraries to communicate with MySQL are what are a problem for comercial software, not the DB itself. But, that said, MySQL might want to have the ability to sell custom changes to InnoDB. They might choose to re-write it over time. But, it is not good for for MySQL to have to depend on Oracle to sell modifications to InnoDB. If this competes too much with Oracle offerings, there will be problems.
